Honored to be named in The Ophthalmologist Power List Top 50 – Innovators.

https://theophthalmologist.com/power-list/2026/

Success is never a solo story.

My sincere thanks to Damien Gatinel, mentor, pioneer, and constant source of inspiration.

To Alexandre Schakal, whose ethics and professionalism set a standard for younger generations.

To Guillaume Debellemanière, whose hard work and scientific vision deserve wide recognition far beyond this list, as well as Pierre Zeboulon, Benjamin Stern, and all the teams at the Rothschild Foundation Hospital. It is a privilege to work alongside you.

Recognition is appreciated, but it is never the goal. Impact is.

The mission remains unchanged:
Innovate. Build. Improve.

Differently, but the journey continues.

A true game changer has finally arrived.

After 2 years of anticipation, the first full-digital surgical microscope with integrated dynamic OCT, developed by Heidelberg Engineering and Bausch and Lomb, has entered the operating room — for the very first time in real clinical surgeries as part of a clinical study.

Image quality
OCT dynamics
Depth of field

Absolutely stunning!!!!!

This technology is set to revolutionize anterior segment surgery:
🔹 Corneal transplants
🔹 Phakic IOL implantation
🔹 Cataract surgery
🔹 Glaucoma surgery
🔹 Anterior segment reconstruction… and much more.

The Cachet® lens is a type of phakic intraocular lens (pIOL) used in ophthalmology for the correction of moderate to high myopia. This lens was designed to be implanted in the anterior chamber of the eye while the eye’s natural crystalline lens remains in place.

In recent years, the Cachet lens has been withdrawn due to concerns over long-term complications such as endothelial cell loss.

Here is a case of Femto Phaco (Catalys) over a Cachet lens in place.

$I had the privilege of being an invited speaker at this year’s Epomec Congress @epomec , which wrapped up yesterday — a wonderful way to close out this year’s series of international meetings. It was an honor to discuss our AI nomogram for ICL vaulting (safevaulticl.com ; @pierrezeb) and even more so to do it with @danreinstein as speaker and panelist. The exchange of insights and ideas with such a knowledgeable and engaged audience was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to the organizers, and everyone who participated. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our field and look forward to continuing these valuable discussions in the year ahead! @institutlaservision @hopitalfondationrothschild @teamgatinel #refractivesurgery #iclsurgery #dmek$
